Aryl-substituted polyhedral oligosilsesquioxanes are an important class of compounds for the reinforcement of composite materials and the creation of a new matrix of high tolerance against extreme conditions They are of even more interest as materials for electronic applications Reaction conditions to obtain such materials with completely condensed cage structures, incompletely condensed double decker structure are studied Some functional transformations of such compounds are also illustrated.
