The April 2000 flood caused failure of the dyke situated on the left bank of the Crisul Alb River, near the confluence with the Cigher River by Tipari village. The flooding produced in the area delineated by the Crisul Alb, the Crisul Negru and the Teuz rivers, and the Romanian-Hungarian border, was simulated using a two-dimensional model POTOP. The results obtained by modelling consist of maps with land topography, water surface levels, depths and average velocities during various times of flood runoff, maximum water depths, cross-sections, stage hydrographs at every network junction and discharge hydrographs in selected cross-sections.
