Balancing Energy Needs in the Sulphur Recovery Train

Culminating from 4 years of performing Integrated Energy Audits~(TM) at sulphur recovery and gas treating plants - mapping of energy utilisation has been refined to a point where it is now evident there is a need to balance the energy flows for energy optimisation and conservation. Total energy consumption in the typical gas processing train represents 10% of throughput and experience gained from audits in these plants indicates energy savings ranging from 10 to 25% of that demand, equivalent to an economic advantage of 1 to 2 million Euros per year per plant.
