Welding is widely utilized because weld properties (strength,ductility,corrosion resistance,etc.) usually function as well as the metals that they join.However,welds,like joints made using other methods also react differently to stresses and environments than other parts of fabricated components.Sometimes these anomalies initiate failures.This presentation will review causes for weld failures in fixed equipment and some methods for preventing them.
