INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCE OF COLOUR MATCHING FUNCTIONS AND ITS CAUSE

Using a new colorimeter that can present acolor having an arbitrary spectral power distribution, we measured color matching functions for 9 individuals, and analyzed a cause of their individual difference. Individual spectral density of ocular media was estimated by the difference between spectral sensitivity of the absolute threshold in peripheral retina and action spectrum of the rhodopsin. We found that a main cause of the individual difference is the difference of individual spectral lens density.
