A LOOK AT STATE-OF-THE-ART PERIMETER AMBIENT MONITORING PROGRAMS

ENSR Corporation has been designing and operating perimeter/fenceline ambient air quality and meteorological programs for many years. ENSR's most recent programs include Perimeter/fenceline monitoring programs around hazardous waste sites, landfill excavation Projects and former Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) site remediation projects. This presentation will focus on and present detailed information concerning the design specifications and operational protocols used in three recent site remediation perimeter monitoring programs. The Perimeter monitoring systems were designed by and operated by ENSR. The presentation will focus on the following design specifications and operational protocols: 1. Monitoring and data quality objectives 2. Parameters measured 3. Parameter-specific action levels 4. Instrumentation 5. Data telemetry / Action Level Alarms 6.Frequency of sampling 7. Number and placement of monitoring locations.
