Food industry is one of major industries in Thailand which has an increasing trend of consumer demand. However, this business is very competitive. As such, quality is the main key of business success. In the food processing, we use AQL represented as the quality policy. This policy affects the four costs of quality; prevention cost, appraisal cost, internal failure cost, and external failure cost. In this paper, we develop a model to obtain the optimal number of sample size and acceptable number of defects that minimize the expected total cost of quality. These results will benefit business strategy decisions.
