Ba{sub}3CO{sub}2Fe{sub}24O{sub}41, (Co{sub}2Z) powders were synthesized by traditional double-sintering and molten-salt method, and X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurement confirms that both are Z-type ferrite. The morphologies were observed using scanning-electronic microscope (SEM). For particles prepared by the molten-salt method, very well-formed flakes are observed, while for those prepared by the double-sintering method, irregular shapes are observed. The composites were made by mixing Co{sub}2Z powders with epoxy at the volume fraction of 50%. Microwave properties were measured using toroidal samples.
