Tin oxide nanoparticles with the average size of 17.4 nm (firing at 600°C for 2 h) have been successfully prepared through a sol-gel process starting with tin dichloride and absolute ethanol as precursors. The particles were characterized by TGA, XRD, SEM and TEM. And preliminary sensing properties were given.
