Techno Economics on Integrated Automatic Packing and ASRS Modules for Steel Plants and Service Centers

Automated packing tracking and storage is the main bridge between a manufacturer and customer. Emphasis should be placed on selecting this bridge. Rather than adapting the conventional lowest cost basis selection, manufacturers should concentrate on cost effectiveness and profitability as the choices that will insure customer retention. Total and long term cost effectiveness versus one time low cost should be the priority. Automated packing will become a standard mode of packaging in the future due to lower unit cost and increased productivity.
