Revamping Project for Ternium Mexico Churubusco Works HSM

The Hot Strip Mill in Churubusco Works is a part of Ternium Mexico (TX) located in Monterrey, in the northwestern part of Mexico. The Runout Table area of the mill was revamped in 2015. The laminar cooling system was renewed for the production of steel grades and quality of today's demands. The table rollers were modified to be accurately driven by new AC motors while reusing existing components to minimize the initial cost. A modular design was introduced for the laminar cooling system in order to shorten the main shutdown period. The electrical equipment and automation was supplied by TMEIC Corporation from USA. The mechanical equipment was supplied by Primetals Technologies (PT) from Japan.
