Crystallization Behavior Evaluations of the Mold Powder by DTA

One of mold powder roles in the continuous casting process is the prevention of strand surface cracking. The mold powder selection is particularly important on crack sensitive steel grades including peritectic and medium carbon grades. High crystallization temperature / high basicity mold powder is a common effective method to prevent the surface cracking due to its softer heat removal.
