The content of retained austenite has an increasing tendency with the increasing austenitizing temperature, while the fraction volume of carbides increases first and then decreases. The martensite start temperature (M_s) and martensite finish temperature (Mf) decrease with the increasing cooling rates, and air-quenched samples can obtain less retained austenite, more compact microstructure than that of oil-quenched samples. For HMSS, the martensitic transformation takes place at some isolated area with a jumping mode and slow nucleation speed.
