Technology decreasing NOx emission in sintering process is a hot study now, and it is urgent to seek an additive that can promote NOx reduction during sinter effectively. In this paper, three methods of mill scale addition, naked particles (S'), coated particles (C) and pellet particles (P), were conducted using micro-sinter equipment and sinter pot. Results showed that compared to performance of nonuse of mill scale, when mill scales were added as S',C and P, total NOx content in off gases decreased 20.9%, 4.1% and 34.4%, respectively. In the sinter pot tests introduced S' type mill scale, and NOx emission decreased 20.9%, at the same time, yield improved 0.23%, and solid fuel consumption decreased 5.05kg/t.
