This paper presents the introduction and implementation of Ceramite~R into Republic Engineered Products-Lorain, Ohio Blast Furnace over the last 2 years. Ceramite~R is a unique family of high temperature wear resistant materials with specific applications in the iron and steel industry. We will discuss the advantages of this unique and advanced wear resistant ceramic and its application in highly abrasive areas in the blast furnace stock house at Republic Engineered Products, Lorain, Ohio. We will present specific advantages of Ceramite~R as compared to other wear resistant materials used in the blast furnace stock house.
