International Cooperation in air transport R&T will increase driven by the continued need for more radical innovation. To be successful, lessons must be learned from the best practices used in international partnerships today. There are no simple or standard methods for delivery. Political policy combined with industrial need is essential but insufficient without some institutional flexibility to accommodate the international players. Flightpath 2050 cannot be achieved unless Europe and the international community work together.
