The huge potential of the continuous generating grinding process for gearwheels can be additionally increased by using CBN as abrasive material. Due to their particular shape the grinding tools used in this process make high demands to the dressing operations in regard to the creation of a sharp layer topography. This contribution illustrates some possibilities of improving the dressing conditions and shows their influence on grinding process and workpiece quality.
