A method for the purpose of dressing of a large amount of conventional cylindrical grinding worm (4) for the grinding of the tooth flanks of a gear wheel in the continuous roller grinding method, wherein, by imaging of a groove profile of a dressing tool (2) on the grinding worm a grinding worms profile (9) is generated, characterized in that the grinding worms profile is produced by the grinding worm (4) by means of a vorprofilierbereichs (7) of the dressing tool (2) and crimping the grinding worm (4) in the same chucking of the grinding worm (4) and of the dressing tool (2) by means of a fertigprofilierbereichs (8) of the dressing tool (2) is profiled in a finished, wherein in a first processing step, crimping and in a second machining step finish profiled, and wherein these processing steps follow each other separated.
