In this paper we present an application of the macroscopic theory of two-phase flows-multi-components in porous media, to the mathematical and numerical modeling of the heap leaching process for copper ores. We assume isothermal conditions. Our offer allows to modeling in a natural way relevant aspects inherent to the mentioned process, such as the interaction between liquid and gaseous phases, together with the simultaneous transport of species in one or both phases, with interchange between these. In this respect, this contribution is a complement of other publications of the authors, emphatically in the conceptual modeling. We present some computational experiments in 2D realized from parameters taken of the mining industry in Chile.
