Proper Cleanup and Improved Re-Acidization Quadruples Productivity Index In A HP-HT Horizontal Well Heavily Damaged With High-Weight Mud

The re-acidization of HP-HT horizontal oil well Umm Guddair XXX in Kuwait resulted in a productivity index four times what was seen after the initial acidization. This astounding improvement in the results can be attributed to better acidization through thorough cleaning of the horizontal section prior to the 2~nd stimulation, as well as placing the acid in stages and introducing a suitable diverting agent.
