This research effort examines the effect of a proteinic admixture on the durability of a building material and studies the sorptivity of a cement mortar, which represents one of the intrinsic macroscopic characteristics, the movement of water by means of capillarity of the mortar. Former studies have revealed the existence of an optimal proportion when using a fluxing proteinic admixture, which allows for better workability of the material. It was noted that such an admixture enables reducing the quantity of water significantly, while maintaining the same physico-mechanical properties. We also focus on the influence of this admixture on the sorptivity, in particular, at optimal flow. Experiments carried out during this study have led to encouraging and beneficial results, thereby making it possible to evaluate the influence of this protein on the hydrous behaviour of a cement mortar in order to recycle it within the construction industry.
