摘要

Granulated blast furnace slag was activated with dried sodium silicate; the temperature-resistant electrical porcelain was used as an aggregate. The composite has been exposed to temperatures from 200 to 1200°C 28 days after the specimens had been prepared. The treatment to the temperature between 200 and 600°C caused the deterioration of the strength to 80% of the initial strength. Further temperature elevation led to compressive strength increase that was twice as high as the original strength. The properties of composites after temperature loading were investigated by mercury porosimetry, X-ray diffraction analysis and electron scanning microscopy. The mineralogical composition, microstructure, porosity, and comparison with specimens containing quartz aggregates are described.
