摘要

The electronic and optical properties of the oxygen chemisorption on single-walled carbon nanotubes are studied by first principles calculations. The (17,0) carbon nanotube can exhibit the electron or hole doping state at different oxygen chemisorption. The optical absorption spectra were performed under light polarized parallel to the tube axis. Our results provide the possibility that the electric conductivity of carbon nanotubes can be decreased by photoinduced oxygen chemisorption, similar to the process of photodesorption.
