Promoting Biochemical Research in the Secondary School

摘要

To bridge the gap between the secondary school and the university, the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of the University of Barcelona has designed two course programmes, both of which include lectures and practical classes and aim to promote biochemical research. The first addresses final year secondary school students and intends to increase their interest in biochemistry. The second programme has been designed for secondary school science teachers and aims to update their knowledge of biochemistry and provide them with a booklet of laboratory practices. These courses have been successful in their objectives and are now reference models for other disciplines.
