Anti-counterfeiting technology received much attention in recent years. Anti-counterfeiting fiber, acting as an important functional fiber, has been widely used in various fields. In this paper, a novel rare earth complex for fluorescent anti-counterfeiting fiber was reported. Firstly, a novel hyperbranched ligand with two ester groups, two benzene rings and three carboxylic groups for preparing highly fluorescent rare earth complex was synthesized. The composition and structure of the ligand were characterized through the FT-IR, Raman spectra and 1H NMR. The results showed that the composition and structure of the ligand accorded with that of the anticipated product. Furthermore, a highly fluorescent rare earth complex was synthesized with the ligand. Fluorescent properties of the complex were studied via CARY ECLIPSE fluorescent spectrometer. The results indicated that the complex possessed excellent luminescent properties.
