Measurement of Friction Coefficient under Bulk Plastic Deformation in Plane Strain Extrusion Test

In metal forming process, the friction condition between tool and workpiece is quite important process parameter concerning the tool design, tool life and product quality. Furthermore, appropriate selection of lubricants for metal forming is required from the point of view of the environment protection. Measurement of friction force during a forming process provides useful information on the above subjects.
