Polyurea based formulations are very fast reacting systems that provide for quick development of performance properties resulting in short out-of-service times for coating and sealant applications. The polymer network developed in these systems is not sensitive to the presence of ambient moisture because the amino-groups are much faster reacting than water. Although the fast cure has the advantages just stated, polyurea systems can provide a challenge to the applicator in terms of getting adequate pre-cure flow and leveling, as well as, acceptable adhesion to the substrate.
