New hybrid biobased-petrochemical polyols were synthesized by ring opening polymerization of propylene oxide (PO) and ethylene oxide (EO, initiated by vegetable oil polyols as starters and catalyzed by cationic, anionic and coordinative catalysts, Figure 1. The polyols have molecular weights in the range of M=3000-5500, corresponding to hydroxyl numbers of 30-60 mg KOH/g and have in their polymeric structure a Biobased content of around 20-33% and a petrochemical content (polyether chains) of 67-80%.
