Joint prosthesis is surrounded with periprosthetic synovial fluid in joint capsule. Periprosthetic synovial fluid contains proteins, lipids, hyaluronic acid and other constituents. The constituents adsorbs on joint prosthesis material, and avoid direct contact of rubbing surface. Adsorbed protein film affects tribological property of joint prosthesis. Therefore, it is important to clarify adsorbed protein film behavior under rubbing. In this study, protein film behavior was investigated by using electrochemical method. Albumin showed low desorption, but HGG in 2.1 mass% desorbed with load increase. Coefficient of friction was similar under high load conditions. Adsorbed protein film will be effective under low contact pressure conditions.
