If the oxygen/nitrogen separation factor is more than 5 and the amount of oxygen adsorbed is more than 10 cm~3N/g/100kPa, such a selective oxygen adsorbent can be used for high-performance oxygen/nitrogen separation process based on pressure-swing adsorption (PSA) . We examined here the amount of oxygen reversibly sorbed on seven kinds of perovskite-type oxides (La_(0.1)Sr_(0.9)Co_(1-x)Fe_xOa_3 0<= x<=1.0) under gas-flowing condition in the temperature range of 150-700 deg C. It was found that the amount of reversibly sorbed oxygen was changed largely with temperature, but not changed so much with oxide composition. A rather large amount of sorbed oxygen was observed for the sample (x=0.1) at 500 deg C. It was confirmed on the basis of XRD measurements that the lattice spacing of perovskite structure can be reversibly changed with the reversible sorption and desorption of oxygen.
