Liquefaction around Marine Structures, LIMAS, an EU research program

During the past three years, EU has supported a research program on Liquefaction around Marine Structures (LIMAS) (http:∥vb.mek.dtu.dk/research/limas/limas.html). The program has been undertaken by a consortium of 10 European institutions (universities, hydraulics and geotechnical engineering laboratories and consulting companies). In this presentation, this research program is described, highlighting the objectives of more than ten sub-projects under the program, focusing on different aspects of the topic. The major part of the program concerns the wave-induced liquefaction although the seismic-induced liquefaction is also studied with regard to its impact on marine structures.
