摘要

This paper uses an example in the area of calibration of high-voltage devices to discuss and demonstrate the process of optimising the calibration and its effect on the uncertainty. The paper concludes that an understanding between the calibration laboratory and its client, with regard to the calibration capability and the intended use of the device, is an essential first step in optimising a calibration. The paper also concludes that uncertainty analysis is a useful tool in identifying inefficiencies in the calibration system.
