The high-speed train axle EA4T steel was successfully developed through the process optimization of electric arc furnace smelting, (LF+ RH) refining, the great round bloom continuous casting, heat treatment in Masteel. The controlling precision of axle steel compositions is high, the chemical compositions segregation of bloom is small, S, P, T[0] and non-metallic inclusion content in steel are low. Through the optimization of heat treatment process, the mechanical properties of the axle billet is stable, strength, toughness and plastic of the axle billet matches well.
