摘要

An evaluation of a low cost software system for distributed conceptual design support is presented. DiDeas (Distributed Design Assistant) systematically guides spatially distributed design teams through the specification development and conceptual design stages of the product development process, and supports recording and exchanging design information. The case study showed that DiDeas significantly improved the effectiveness of information exchange between the team members in 'laboratory conditions'.
