SORPTION OF SELECTED VOLATILE ORGANIC CONTAMINANTS INTO BLACK CARBON IN WATER

摘要

Sorption of organic contaminants into carbonaceous materials governs the fate,transport and ecotoxicological risks of soil,groundwater and the environment.Pyrogenic carbon particles such as soot and charcoal,collectively termed black carbon(BC)potentially play an important role in the sorption of organic contaminants,including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and pesticides.Knowledge of the sorption behaviors of organic contaminants such as chlorophenols,petroleum compounds and chlorinated solvents into BC is a fundamental prerequisite for evaluating their environmental fate,risk assessment and remediation efficiency.
