MICROBIOLOGICAL RESPONSES AND ADAPTATION TO CHEMICAL STRESS

摘要

Microbiological responses to chemical stress are important in engineered systems such as biological wastewater treatment plants as well as the natural environment.A sudden onslaught of chemical pollutants may elicit adaptive protective responses from the micro-organisms in the system and,this in turn,may alter the system's functions and behavior,including incomplete treatment and deflocculation in treatment plants and alterations in microbiological diversity in natural systems.
