摘要

Crude oils are complex hydrocarbon mixtures consisting mainly of paraffins, aromatic hydrocarbons, resins and asphaltenes. At high temperatures (70 - 150 °C) crude oils behave as Newtonian fluids with low viscosity. But as the temperature declines, the solubility of long chain paraffins and asphltenes decreases sharply. Crude oil behaves as non-Newtonian fluid even a solid gel. In petroleum industry, the precipitation of long chain paraffins and asphaltenes can lead to waxy deposition at the pipe walls, reducing oil flow and potentially blocking the pipeline [1].
