摘要

The microbiological quality of water from “La Escondida” lagoon in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, was evaluated. Nine water samples were used to obtain a single composed sample. The presence of aerobic mesophilic, total and fecal coliforms, Salmonella and Shigella, fungi, yeasts and parasites was determined in the composed water sample. There was a growth with different degree of density, with potentially pathogenic metabolic activities, as alpha and beta hemolysis; the growth of enterobacteria and coliforms, besides the presence of parasite eggs, which demonstrate that the water quality of this water body is poor, constituting a health risk. The changes in the weather did not have a significant impact in the microbial population profiles.
