摘要

The purpose of this paper is to present the results of several recent national and regional surveys, Subject Matter Expect (SME) panels and Curriculum Development that address the need for more technically trained robotics manufacturing, design, and systems technicians. Survey, SME panels, and curriculum development results, implications, and actions taken to date will be presented to include the National Robotics Training Center's survey on the need for a more technically trained robotics manufacturing workforce; a survey of the state of College Electronics Technology programs, new and emerging robotics and electronics programs and Carnegie Mellon University's research and curriculum development of Robotics Technicians and Electro-Mechanical Systems Specialists.
