Environmental aspects and challenges in Raufoss Industrial Park (RIP) - Over a 100 years of industrial history

Raufoss Industrial Park has over a 100 years of history. During this period, there has been a developing in products, processes, structure and organisations but also a developing in environmental aspects. Environmental aspects were not taken seriously until late 70s - early 80s. Many improvements was done until early 90s, but continuously new EU directives are implemented in Norwegian legislation, and environmental aspects that the legislation regulates has an historical background and is a result of lack of competence and bad management. Companies in Raufoss Industrial Park have every opportunity to prevent this from happening again. The competence in the companies is improving, but it could and should be better. It is important that we learn from the wrong choices that has been taken, and give others companies and industrial parks the ability to learn from them also.
