A CAD/CAM SYSTEM USING A TECHNICAL KNOW-HOW DATABASE FOR METALLIC MOLD PLATES

摘要

The purpose of this research is to create a practical CAD/CAM system manufacturing metal molds for plastic injection. In this paper, a technical know-how database is built by holding expert’s technology as an object-oriented forms, and the CAD/CAM system uses it automatically. Know-how of experts, such as decision of cutting speed tool path, and tool’s life,is accumulated in the database. Anyone can get the same NC data as their to be made by experts. Moreover,the lead time generating NC data is decreased.
