The citizens and local authorities views on actions taken to enhance public acceptance of a 380kV grid extension project

The Belgian TSO Elia has expanded its 380 kV grid from the inland (near Ghent) to the coast (Zeebrugge). The length of this new link, of 2× 3000 MVA, is about 50 km and in combination with 4 new substations it is one of the largest grid expansion projects of the last decades in Belgium. The permitting process started late 2008 and the construction ended in 2017.
