This article is mainly about the design of GPS navigation system. High speed MCU C8051F020 is used to analyze, transact and resolve the GPS signal. The transacted navigation signal will then be displayed through LCD. The design involves two parts: hardware and software. The hardware part consists of GPS receiver, central data processing unit, output information displayer and keyboard. C language and assembler language are used in mixing programming in the design. C language program is used to deal with the data processing part in the software system, while assembler language program is to realize LCD and keyboard input. In this way, both merits of C and assembler language are utilized.
