A single-chip microcomputer system, and a reset method for the single-chip microcomputer system. By detecting the reset pulse width of a reset pin (110) to determine to wake up or reset a single-chip microcomputer, and wake-up and reset functions are implemented without increasing system resources, thereby reducing the number of input/output (I/O) ports, and reducing system resource consumption. The single-chip microcomputer system (100) comprises a reset pin (110), a control unit (120), a central processing unit (CPU) (130), and a peripheral device (140). The single-chip microcomputer system (100) is connected to a master control system (200) by means of one end of the reset pin (110), and the other end of the reset pin (110) is connected to the control unit (120). The control unit (120) is separately connected to the CPU (130) and the peripheral device (140). The master control system (200) is used for controlling the reset pin (110) to output a reset level. The control unit (120) is used for detecting the signal duration of the reset level outputted by the reset pin (110), and for triggering to wake up or reset the single-chip microcomputer according to the signal duration of the reset level, and the signal duration for triggering the wake-up is different from the signal duration for triggering the reset.
