For low cost separators of polymer electrolyte fuel cell (PEFC), Injection molding process with thermoplastic compounds of high filled carbon filler offer promising prospects. In this study, the shear viscosity of carbon filled polyphenylenesulfide (PPS) with a range of different carbon fillers for injection molded separators was investigated. It was clear that the shear viscosity of PPS compounds decreased with increasing of aspect ratio of carbon fillers in order of spherical, granular and flaky shape. Additionally, the shear viscosity decreased with increasing of mean particle diameter in any shape carbon fillers. From these results, it can be said that the thermoplastic compounds of high filled spherical carbon having large mean particle diameter is found to be useful for balance between moldability and conductivity of injection molded separator.
