A 2D cascade design system that optimizes both the design point loss and the operation range was constructed by using the quasi-3D blade-to-blade calculation code MISES and a multi-objective optimization. This system was applied to the design of highly-loaded cascades which diffusion factors are 0.65, and the validity of the system was verified by the wind tunnel test. As a result, the loss characteristics of the optimization cascades designed by this system qualitatively corresponded with the results of the test.
