A Survey on the Reduction of Indoor Formaldehyde and VOC Concentrations Caused by Room Air Cleaner Operations Surveys on the Indoor Chemical Substances Concentration in a Residence (Part 2)

Room air cleaners have been considered as a suitable measure to remove chemical substances that sometimes cause 'sick building syndrome'. Authors investigated the formaldehyde and VOC removal rates of the room air cleaners by the laboratory experiment. However, the removal performance of the air cleaner in the residential environment has not been known yet. In our former report, the chemical substance concentrations in the residence were measured and the removal performances of various countermeasure products were determined to some extent. The present study investigated the concentration reduction effect of the room air cleaners in the residential environment by the continuous survey in the same residence.
