Experiments on the deodorizing effect on tobacco odors of fine water droplets produced by electrostatic atomization were conducted in a 22m~3 chamber. The odor intensity decreased remarkably in 2 hours. Further experiments regarding the inactivation effect on pollen antigens were conducted in a 40L chamber and a 22m~3 chamber. In both experiments, it was confirmed that the fine water droplets produced by electrostatic atomization inactivated the pollen antigens. The diameters of the fine water droplets produced by electrostatic atomization were found to be approximately 20nm when measured with a Differential Mobility Analyzer (DMA). These results confirm that fine water droplets produced by electrostatic atomization have a deodorizing effect and pollen antigen inactivation effect.
