Despite the claims of many opponents of violent video games, scientific research has failed to show that playing violent video games increases the aggression of players of any age. With no scientific reason to believe that violent video games pose a public health risk, attempts to regulate the industry should not be supported, as regulation has the potential to cause great harm to the young medium.
