The convection thin-layer drying experiments for Chlorinated Natural Rubber (CNR) from latex were designed according to quadratic regressing orthogonal methods. The influence of drying temperature, air velocity and granularity of samples on the drying rate, properties of dried samples was analyzed. And the factors that mainly influencing the drying rate have been determined. The results show that with the drying temperature increasing, drying rate increases, drying time reduces and viscosity of product rises, No obvious variation of the chlorine content appeared. FTIR and UV-spectra were applied to determine the effect of drying temperature on the structure of dried CNR. The results show that the fine structure of dried CNR has some fine change, but the main structure hasn't varied. The product can be dried under temperature no more than 120°C.
